193-Foot Experiential Graphic Design for Platte River Power Authority

Overview

A-Train Marketing transformed Platte River Authority’s (PRPA) headquarters with a graphic wall that vividly narrates their history and community ties.

The Problem

PRPA’s new headquarters presented a storytelling challenge with its expansive blank walls awaiting a narrative. They needed to convey the legacy of their owner communities and the brand’s evolution in a space where small art pieces would be inconsequential. A-Train Marketing saw these vast white canvases as an opportunity to craft a compelling visual story that would honor PRPA’s heritage and ethos. The solution had to be grand, integrating historical depth with modern design elegance.

Built for the Future

Designed with foresight, the graphic installation at PRPA’s headquarters includes a seamlessly integrated 20-foot “future space.” This area, prepared with a printed background, is ready for new stories so the wall will evolve with PRPA’s ongoing journey. Our planning included templates for easy future additions, allowing for another decade of progress to be encapsulated.

Custom Interactive Touchscreen Website

A-Train Marketing enhanced PRPA’s historical display with two 75” interactive touchscreen displays, creating a custom website to enrich the narrative with videos and interactive elements. Designed for accessibility and engagement, the interface accommodates users of varying heights, ensuring the touchpoints are comfortably reachable and the content dynamic and straightforward.

The Results

The project at PRPA culminated in five expansive walls of vibrant, full-height graphics, each telling a part of their story. One celebrated the owner communities of Loveland, Estes Park, Fort Collins, and Longmont; another illustrated their mission and vision; a third conveyed their core values; a fourth displayed the symbolic bison herd, underscoring their environmental commitments; and a 140-foot timeline wall meticulously chronicled their history since 1966. The execution not only brought PRPA’s legacy to life but also stayed within budget, meeting the deadline for the grand unveiling at the Energy Engagement Center.

Final deliverables included:

134 custom-made dimensional text components

27 custom stand-offs to showcase original historical artifacts directly on the wall

Over 1800 square feet of custom graphics

Interactive touchscreen website
