As the CEO of a leading health marketing agency, I know that outstanding results for clients and a positive work environment are both achievable. However, too often it’s considered an either-or situation. People commonly believe that either you meet an organization’s marketing objectives by working your people to exhaustion or you keep your employees happy by expecting less of them and accepting mediocre output.
Well, we’re thrilled to dispel that myth at A-Train Marketing! We have a long (25+ years) track record of client success and now our efforts to develop and maintain a positive work environment have been officially recognized by our inclusion on Inc.’s annual Best Workplaces list! It’s an honor to be named in the Health Services category of this prestigious list of American companies, and we’re the only Colorado-based organization that can say that.
Meeting the Best Workplace Program’s Rigorous Standards
The term “best” gets thrown around a lot, and often it’s a subjective measure. “We have the best customer service.” “You’ll love our industry-best products!”
But Inc.’s Best Workplaces program is different.
They carefully evaluate data from thousands of submissions before selecting an elite group of recipients. This year, the program named just 543 honorees from a long list of companies nationwide.
Nominated organizations took part in an employee survey conducted by Quantum Workplace, which covered several critical topics, including:
- Management effectiveness
- Employee perks
- Professional development programs
- Overall company culture
Each company’s characteristics were also audited as part of assigning an overall score and determining a ranking. In other words, it’s a data-driven list of the nation’s best workplaces.
What Our Positive Workplace Means to Clients
Inc.’s website has an article about the Best Workplaces program that’s subtitled, “How to Win at Company Culture.” What we’ve found in striving to keep our team members happy, well-rested, and feeling fulfilled in their work is that winning at company culture leads to winning at achieving clients’ marketing objectives.
It stands to reason, of course. A small amount of pressure can be helpful for us “creatives,” but a pressurized environment inevitably has the opposite effect. People mindlessly fall back on strategies and campaign ideas that have worked in the past in order to meet deadlines—and it shows in the lack of creativity… and the lack of results.
On the other hand, in the type of positive, supportive environment we maintain at A-Train Marketing, people have the work-life balance and head space that frees them to come up with amazing ways to help clients connect with audiences and hit their marketing, sales, and revenue targets.
Honored To Serve Incredible Clients
We’re thrilled to be recognized for our commitment to a positive work environment. However, we also recognize that collaborating with great clients makes it easier to have an exceptional culture.
In fact, we’ve made the difficult decision to part ways with clients at times (and walk away from the potential revenue) because we know it’s in the best interests of our agency and our team members. Prioritizing profit over people is one of the quickest ways to make everybody miserable.
Instead, we develop strong relationships with organizations that share our values, including an upbeat outlook and the belief that excellent results and enjoyable interactions don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
So, a huge thank you to our clients and the Inc. Best Workplaces program for this recognition! And many thanks, too, to everyone at A-Train Marketing, where the commitment to positive team chemistry and mutual support is truly inspiring.
